Team news

Jay Stansfield had a successful loan spell down in Devon with Exeter. Stansfield's dad Adam played for them from between 2006 to 2010 and was highly thought of. Stansfield Jnr scored nine goals in 36 games in the 2022/23 season, returning to the club he began his career. His big money move in the summer made Exeter over £1m in sell-on-fees.

Luke Harris will also be familiar to the home faithful. He spent the second half of the 2023/24 season at St James Park, and made 21 appearances, scoring four goals.

Emil Hansson, Scott Wright, Lee Buchanan and Alfons Sampsted are all missing through injury for the visitors.

As for Exeter, Johnly Yfeko, Yanic Wildschut and Patrick Jones are missing for them. Ryan Woods served a one game ban after picking up a red card against Lincoln City, but should return. Woods was a Birmingham player for a season in the 2021/22 campaign.

Patrick Jones is out with a hamstring injury. He left Huddersfield Town at the end of September, but suffered the injury in training shortly after making the move.

Who is the referee?

Alex Chilowicz is the referee and he's going to be assisted by Jack Clench and Kevin Morris with Matthew Russell the fourth official. Chilowicz was the man in the middle for Birmingham's 1-0 win against Charlton Athletic in the EFL Cup in August, sending off Dion Anderson. He's officiated 13 games this season, brandishing 39 yellow cards and two reds.
