David Prutton predicts winner of Birmingham City vs Plymouth Argyle with reasons why

Birmingham City have dawned a new era under Tom Wagner’s ownership in style as it has been of the most active transfer windows in recent memory.

John Eustace has seen his squad change considerably since the final game of the 2022/23 season against Sheffield United, with seven permanent departures and ten new signings completed so far.

Around £8 million in sales and roughly £7.25 million in purchases has given Blues a net spend of -£750,000 but there seems to have been a vast improvement on the field despite the lack of big-money deals.

It’s been a solid start to the new campaign, with John Eustace’s side unbeaten and winning three of their first two games. Ahead of this week’s EFL fixtures, David Prutton has given his predictions for this weekend’s games, including Blues’ clash with Plymouth.

Prutton’s predictions

The former Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder has gone for a 2-1 home win for the Blues.

Speaking to the EFL website, he said: “Plymouth Argyle are getting used to the Championship, once again back at this level after such a long period of time away, up against a Birmingham City side inspired by Tom Brady, led by John Eustace, doing very well indeed so far.”

The game kicks-off tomorrow at 3pm at St Andrew’s.
