Alfie May switches role as Chris Davies makes two defensive changes - Birmingham City predicted XI vs Peterborough
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Blues, the only remaining unbeaten team in the division, have the chance to climb to the summit of the table as they take on Peterborough at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park.
Chris Davies’ side brushed Rotherham United aside last time out, winning 2-0 at AESSEAL New York Stadium. Even with a game in hand, Blues are just one goal difference off league leaders Wrexham and could take top spot with a victory over this weekend’s opposition.

Hide AdIt won’t be easy, though, as Peterborough have started the new campaign strongly. The Posh have won three and drawn two of their opening seven fixtures, putting them eighth and five points behind Birmingham.
Davies has described Peterborough as Birmingham’s toughest opponents yet, so it’s bound to be effectively as strong of a lineup as possible. With that in mind, here’s the XI we predict will be named on Saturday.
Birmingham predicted XI vs Peterborough
GK - Bailey Peacock-Farrell
Davies has pressed ahead with Peacock-Farrell as the first choice goalkeeper, even despite errors made in earlier fixtures. Ryan Allsop awaits his opportunity.
RB - Alfons Sampsted
Sampsted has impressed during his cameos so far and we could see him making his first League start. Peterborough have a lot of pace and Taylor Gardner-Hickman has played a lot of football recently. There’s great competition in this position.
CB - Krystian Bielik

Hide AdBielik is back after a one-match suspension and should slot straight back into the heart of defence. The skipper is one of the best players in the entire division.
CB - Christoph Klarer
Klarer has been excellent alongside Bielik throughout the opening matches. Their partnership is probably of high-end Championship standard.
LB - Alex Cochrane
Cochrane has started the season superbly and the quality of delivery into the box has been a joy to behold. He’s an easy pick at left-back.
CM - Tomoki Iwata
Iwata has stolen Marc Leonard’s central midfield spot and there’s no reason for Davies to reverse that call. The Japanese has been excellent.
CM - Paik Seung-ho

Hide AdBlues will be so glad Paik stayed around as he’s been one of the best midfielders in League One so far this term. What a player.
RW - Willum Willumsson
Willumsson has shown glimpses of real quality since signing from Go Ahead Eagles. The Iceland international typically plays on the right of an attacking midfield three.
LW- Emil Hansson
Hansson has been the most impressive of the left wide attackers so far this campaign. He’s lacked consistency at times, however, so needs to find rhythm.
CAM - Jay Stansfield
Stansfield moved in to a slightly deeper position against Rotherham when Lyndon Dykes led the line. It worked well with Jay just off the striker, so we think that’ll be the approach once again.

ST - Alfie May
May, still Blues’ top scorer this season with four, deserves to return to the XI. The 31-year-old played as an attacking midfielder against Wrexham but plays better as an out-and-out striker.
