Blues return to home soil for the first time in three weeks to host Bolton at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park on Tuesday evening.
Birmingham returned to winning ways in League One with a thrilling 3-1 comeback victory away at Lincoln City on Saturday. Davies’ men remain at the summit of the standings following their eighth victory of the season but another tough test awaits this midweek.

Hide AdBolton, in 11th with 17 points out of their first 30 available, are unbeaten in their last four outings in the league. Ian Evatt’s side have won against Burton, Northampton, Crawley and Reading since this time last month, making them a potential banana skin for Birmingham.
Davies is bound to show his opponents plenty of respect this Tuesday and he’ll likely put out as strong of a lineup as possible as a result. With that in mind, and including a decision made for injury doubt Jay Stansfield, here are the 11 Blues players we reckon will take on Bolton.
Birmingham predicted XI vs Bolton
GK - Ryan Allsop
The boyhood Bluenose has been handed his chance following a host of errors from Bailey Peacock-Farrell. He’s certainly stepped up and saved a penalty at Lincoln.
RB - Ethan Laird
Laird made a great impact upon his return off the bench at the weekend. It’s perhaps a little harsh to drop Taylor Gardner-Hickman but Laird is the better right-back.
CB - Christoph Klarer

Hide AdKlarer, the stand-in skipper during Krystian Bielik’s absence, has proven himself as one of the best central defenders in the division.
CB - Ben Davies
Davies seems to be getting the nod ahead of Dion Sanderson and that’s likely to continue following another solid showing.
LB - Alex Cochrane
Cochrane has started the season superbly and the quality of delivery into the box has been a joy to behold. He’s an easy pick at left-back.
CM - Tomoki Iwata
Iwata couldn’t have wished for a better start to his Blues career as he’s been one of the best players on the field in every appearance to date.
CM - Paik Seung-ho

Hide AdPaik’s presence of mind in and out of possession makes him arguably the best midfielder in League One. His new contract couldn’t be more deserved.
RAM - Willum Willumsson
Willumsson, another player of Championship quality, has secured the right attacking midfield spot. He added another goal and assist to his tally last time out.
CAM - Keshi Anderson
Anderson is in superb form and it’s great to see after so many injury setbacks in the past. Davies will be hoping for more of the same.
LAM - Scott Wright
Wright was the man of the match in the 4-0 win at Shrewsbury as he scored twice and assisted another. He should be rewarded with a start in the league.
ST - Alfie May
May notched two assists against Lincoln, adding to his five goals and one assist earlier in the campaign. Jay Stansfield faces a late fitness test, meanwhile, but there’s no need to take any risks.
