It’s another week and another sell-out for Birmingham City ahead of a pivotal fixture.

Birmingham’s general admission home tickets for the highly-anticipated upcoming Vertu Trophy semi-final against Bradford City have officially sold out.

Bluenoses have quite the track record for selling out both home and away, creating superb atmospheres wherever they go. St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park, so often packed to the rafters, has been a fortress all season and there’s no sign of that changing before 2024/25 draws to a close.

With a chance to reach the Vertu Trophy final at Wembley Stadium, Birmingham will be determined to beat Bradford and the supporters will be right behind them all the way. Blues, beaten just once on home soil this term, are rather unsurprisingly the heavy favourites.

Whether it be rain or shine, cold or warm – Blues fans would never skip the opportunity to back their team for such a vital fixture. Or any fixture for that matter, with several other home matches sold out already this campaign.

Head coach Chris Davies couldn’t be more thankful for the religious backing from Bluenoses and the players are certainly feeling the impact too. Birmingham have lost just once since November 23 and it was the spirited 3-2 defeat to Newcastle United in the FA Cup.

The atmosphere at St Andrew’s that night was seriously impressive - deafening at times - with one of the loudest renditions of ‘Keep Right On’ in recent memory. Similar noise can be expected yet again as Blues chase their first opportunity for silverware since winning the League Cup in 2011.

Bradford yet to fill away allocation

The visitors, meanwhile, are close to selling out their away allocation but have had to open up their tickets to general sale. The Bantams, third in League Two and just one point away from the automatic promotion spots, have beaten two League One clubs to reach the semi-finals.

Graham Alexander’s side have beaten Stockport County, Aston Villa Under-21 and Rotherham United since the group stage to reach the final four of the competition. Bradford, albeit big underdogs, will be confident they can cause another upset. Birmingham must guard against complacency — and they’re bound to given the importance of the occasion.
