Birmingham’s highly-anticipated upcoming FA Cup fourth round tie with Newcastle United has officially sold out.
Blues have become rather renowned for their ridiculously impressive support both home and away considering their current position in the English footballing pyramid. There’s no sign of the high attendance numbers to slow down any time soon, either, with another brilliant matchday atmosphere on the cards.

Hide AdSt Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park is expected to be packed out to the rafters this Saturday for the 5.35pm kick-off under the lights. Whether it be rain or shine, cold or warm – Blues fans would never skip the opportunity to back their team for such a vital fixture. Or any fixture for that matter, with several other home matches sold out already this campaign.

Head coach Chris Davies couldn’t be more thankful for the religious backing from Bluenoses and the players are certainly feeling the impact too. Birmingham are now 18 matches unbeaten across all competitions with the last defeat coming away at Shrewsbury Town on November 23.
St Andrew’s has proven to be quite the fortress, too, with Blues yet to suffer a single loss on home soil throughout 2024/25. It’s an incredible record and one Newcastle will look at nervously, even if the high-flying Premier League side are the comfortable favourites.
Newcastle sell out Blues away end
Birmingham will have the advantage on supporter count this weekend but that hasn’t stopped the Magpies from doing all they can to make it feel like a home tie themselves. Newcastle have sold out their allocation, with close to 5,000 Toon faithful to occupy the lower Gil Merrick.

Hide AdBluenoses experienced in pre-season just how loud and bustling an away end can get as Rangers made the visit to St Andrew’s, with an estimated 7,300 away fans in attendance. That match - albeit a friendly - had extra meaning as it was played in memorial of the late great Trevor Francis.
The capacity at St Andrew’s is 24,409 and, as long as everyone with a ticket shows up, every seat should be filled. It’s set to be an absolutely cracking atmosphere for all those in attendance.
Birmingham v Newcastle head-to-head record
This is the first time Birmingham have faced Newcastle in any competition since March 2017, when a 0-0 draw played out at St Andrew’s in the Championship. Blues are without a win in their last eight meetings with the Magpies but their last victory was in the FA Cup – a stunning 5-1 thumping at St. James’ Park in January 2007.
The two teams have played one another in the FA Cup since but it didn’t quite go as well for Blues on that occasion. Birmingham forced a replay in January 2017 with a 1-1 draw at St Andrew’s but Newcastle proved too fierce in the reverse tie, winning 3-1 at St. James’ 11 days later.
