Hide AdThe 2024/25 season is almost upon us with things getting underway on Friday (August 8) night when Barnsley host Mansfield Town on the new Sky Sports + channel. It will be the first game in the third tier to be shown on the platform, and it will give us an indication as to what is to come for Birmingham, and the other 21 teams in the division.
As part of a £953m deal spread across five years, Sky Sports have promised to show more EFL games than ever before and as a result, they've launched Sky Sports + which will effectively replace Blues TV, iFollow and the other in-house TV channels that clubs can offer. The very way that supporters will take in their football will change with multiple games being shown at once, and that all starts this weekend.
Birmingham City host Reading at a sold out St Andrew's on Saturday at 5.30 pm, and the late kick off is because the Championship, League One and League Two are all being shown. The broadcasting of a 3.00 pm kick off on a Saturday is usually prohibited but because there isn't any Premier League football it's allowed.

Two games will be shown mainly at 12.30 pm on a Saturday, as well as every midweek fixture. All matches in the Carabao Cup and the EFL Trophy have been shown, but we’re only focusing on League One.
Sky Sports made a promise to be fair when making their choices for television. They have locked in their broadcast choices from now until mid-January in a move that will give supporters more time to arrange their travel for away games. Here, BirminghamWorld thanks to information on LiveFootballOnTV, has worked out how many times a team will be shown from now until January, with Birmingham City coming out on top when it comes to actually being on TV.
