Swansea City are determined to end their poor run of form against Birmingham City on Tuesday night.

Russell Martin’s men have enjoyed a solid season so far, but they find themselves three games without a win since beating Cardiff City in the derby. The Welsh club drew against Wigan Athletic last time out, adding to a defeat to Preston and a draw with Bristol City.

Those results have seen them drop out of the playoffs and down to ninth, two points off the top six, albeit having played a game less, and they make the trip to St Andrew’s determined to get back on track.

“We’ve come away from the weekend disappointed, there’s no question about that,” Swansea star Jay Fulton told the club’s website. “We’ve conceded two goals from corners, we have put a lot of work in on those areas and we just have to do a lot better than that.

“We gave ourselves a mountain to climb, and even thought it was us pushing late on for a winner it’s still frustrating because we made life difficult for ourselves. We need to start games better, to start games faster, to start games the way we have been finishing them.

“We should be starting the game at the right intensity because that’s what we prepare to do, and so that is something we are going to have to look at. But we have a chance to bounce back quickly, there are two games and we have to respond. They are both away so it will be tough. There will be a lot of travelling involved, but we have to be ready for that because we have done well in this period up to now. It’s up to us to make sure we finish it on the right note.”

Birmingham welcome the Swans having picked up two wins in their last three games, not suffering a defeat in any of those outings. Blues defeated Stoke City away from home last time out, a result that saw them move up to 11th, just two points behind Swansea heading into this game.
