Birmingham City are back in Sky Bet Championship action on Tuesday evening, just three days after a well-earned 2-1 win away against Stoke City. Blues return to St Andrew’s as they take on Swansea City in an all-top-half clash.

John Eustace’s side soared into 11th place in the league standings on Saturday, courtesy of goals from Scott Hogan and Harlee Dean. Supporters were particularly happy to see the latter get on the scoresheet as he has been in tremendous form since returning from injury.

Swansea, who are currently two spots above Birmingham, are a good side and will likely put on quite the show. Blues are of course in great form and high on confidence at the moment, but Russell Martin’s side could prove to be a bit of an obstacle.

The Swans haven’t won in three outings, though, most recently being held to a 2-2 home draw to Wigan Athletic. Before that, they lost 1-0 to Preston North End and only managed to scrape a point against Bristol City a few days earlier.

Bluenoses may see this as arguably one of the better times to face Swansea. As is the nature of a highly-congested fixture schedule, however, Eustace will likely have to rotate his side a little and this could make things a little tougher. He will also be forced into one switch with a key player now out after accumulating too many yellow cards.

Without further ado, here is all the latest team news for both Blues and Swansea ahead of kick-off, including five players ruled out and two doubts.

John Eustace will have to make at least one change with Krystian Bielik now suspended for one match after picking up five yellow cards. Gary Gardner (calf) and Przemyslaw Placheta (shin) are both ruled out until after the World Cup.

Nico Gordon and George Friend have both been getting some game time with the Under-21s after lengthy spells out. They could feature in the matchday squad but remain doubtful and are unlikely to start. There are no other fresh injury concerns.

For Swansea, midfielder Jamie Paterson returned off the bench last time out and is expected to feature once again. Liam Walsh, however, remains ruled out with an Achilles tendon rupture - as does former Liverpool man Joe Allen, who is unlikely to be back in action before the World Cup.

The visitors were delighted to see top scorer Joel Piroe back against Wigan after he served the final of his three-game suspension. The Dutchman added another to his tally on Saturday and he is available once again. Matt Grimes will be welcomed back after his own suspension.
