Four incredible pictures of new Birmingham City stadium plans showing St Andrew's for next season

Birmingham City have released designs showing what St Andrew’s will look like next season with the introduction of two new fan parks

Birmingham City’s US owners are making long term plans to develop the club.

Knighthead confirmed on Tuesday, April 9, that the club had purchased the 48-acre former Wheels site on Bordesley Park to build Birmingham City’s new stadium.

It will also be the club’s new home for training with more than 3,000 jobs expected to be created as part of the redevelopment plans at the site. There are plans for the stadium to possibly hold up to 60,000 seats. In an interview with Sky Sports News, Blues chairman Tom Wagner said they want the stadium to host ‘international sporting events.’

“It would be ideal to host NFL events,” he said.

"There's many other options - Euro football, World Cups, rugby events. All those revenues from increased usage are for the benefit of the club." Knighthead have said they aim to leave St Andrew's by August 2029 for the new stadium.

The club are also aiming to build a 'sports quarter' on the land, with training facilities for the men's, womens and youth teams. In the meantime, there are plans to develop St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park ahead of next season.

Despite the club’s on-field struggles, with Gary Rowett’s team battling relegation, Knighthead’s plans give Blues fans reason to be excited about the future, and the club has also now released new designs of two fan parks set to be built at St Andrew’s ready for next season.

The pictures show two new free-to-access fan parks for next season. Work on the fan parks is set to commence in the coming weeks.
