National media reports claim that Birmingham City boss John Eustace is one of four managers who reportedly have registered an interest in the vacant Rangers job.

A report from Sky Sports claims that Eustace, along with Kevin Muscat, Pascal Jansen, and Chelsea legend Frank Lampard have all shown an interest in the Ibrox hot-seat. It is reported by Sky however, that it 'remains to be seen' whether any of them will be approached for the post.

Eustace has already addressed rumours, having been linked with the job whilst Michael Beale was still in charge. His comments are a stark contrast from what Sky Sports is reporting.

"It's all speculation," said Eustace to BBC West Midlands back in mid-September.

"I'm not interested in any other job than Birmingham City. I'm very, very happy here.

"I came here 14 months ago and I signed a three-year deal to try to help grow the club, to build this fantastic football club to back where it should be," Eustace added.

"We're coming up to halfway in doing that. I think there's been great progress and I want to continue with that progress and see this club fly.

"It's my job just to worry about the football club. That's all I care about. I don't look at social media and don't look at the press."

Eustace oversaw Birmingham’s 4-1 win over Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night, in which Siriki Dembele delivered an exceptional individual performance to help Blues to their first win since late-August.

Birmingham-born Eustace is under contract until the summer of 2025, and any approach from Rangers would result in them having to pay a sizeable compensation fee.

Sister website GlasgowWorld said that the Scottish Premiership could would take their time with their appointment and would not rush into finding Beale’s successor. It was reported by them however that Chris Wilder and Lampard are two names that they want to speak to about the post.

Ryan Lowe, manager of Blues’ Championship rvials Preston North End was the latest name from English football to be linked with the job. The 45-year-old was linked however an approach has not been made, and there isn't expected to be one.

Addressing the rumours, he said to the Lancashire Evening Post: “I’ve been linked with many jobs since I’ve been a manager. I think, when your team is doing well and you’re doing well, you’re obviously going to get linked. But, I am the Preston North End manager and it’s a privilege to manage this football club.”
