Hide AdBirminghamWorld understands that the EFL rules are that documents have to be submitted prior to 12 noon on the day prior to the date of the relevant match, which means that is now unlikely. Time has already elapsed, so Ben Davies would be forced to wait until Tuesday at the earliest to make his debut against Fulham in the Carabao Cup if he completed a move on the weekend.
Davies is reported to be on a big wage, and a move to St Andrew's could allow the Scottish Premiership giants to reinvest that money in to a replacement as Philippe Clement continues to make alterations to the squad. His contract at Ibrox still has two-years to run, and an option to buy at the end of the loan deal would follow in the foot steps of deals for Taylor Gardner-Hickman and Alfons Sampsted.
The 29-year-old has been at Rangers since 2022 after joining from Liverpool in a deal worth a reported £3m. Davies has played in three out of Rangers' five matches this season, and featured in their 2-0 Scottish League Cup win against St Johnstone last Sunday.

Hide AdDavies is a centre-back, and has a great amount of experience in English football, mainly in the Championship. He was at Preston North End for several years, and played for them and Fleetwood Town in League One.
He has 151 games of Championship football under his belt, whilst he was also a shock signing by Liverpool in 2021. Despite being signed for a reported £500,000 by Liverpool, Davies never made a competitive appearance for the Reds. He did have a loan at Shefifield United however, and can count York City, Tranmere Rovers, Southport and Newport County as his other previous clubs.
