10 of the best photos from Birmingham City’s first win of the season vs Huddersfield Town

Birmingham City got their first three points of the season at St Andrew’s and did so in impressive fashion.

Birmingham City briefly moved to the top of the Championship following Friday evening’s victory over Huddersfield Town.

Scott Hogan scored after just 10 minutes before Przemyslaw Placheta was able to fire home right on the stroke of half-time to seal the three points for John Eustace’s men.

Danny Ward found the net for Huddersfield just after the hour mark but Birmingham saw the game out professionally in a cool and calm manner.

It’s a match that, in truth, would have likely ended with a point or even defeat last season.

Once the Terriers had bagged their consolation, alarm bells were sent flying on more than one occasion last year but in this instance, the Blues showed they were made of much sterner stuff than they once was.

It may still be a difficult season ahead but Friday evening was one to remember and even if it’s just for the very imminent future, fans can sing ‘we are top of the league’ loud and proud.

Here’s 10 of the best photos from the contest.
