Aston Villa footballer beats Emma Radacanu in this ranking amid Wimbledon tennis tournament

Aston Villa W.F.C player Alisha Lehmann might be just 24 but is already known for her footie skills having previously played for top football teams like BSC YB Frauen of the Nationalliga A, for West Ham United of the FA WSL and on loan with Everton of the FA WSL.

She is also know for her massive social media following. And in the past week, she has topped several rankings for skills beyond those on the pitch. The Swiss football ace was declared the top ranking Instagram influencer among Women’s World Cup players by data analysts Gracenote Nielsen, according to the BBC. But, that’s not all.

She was also found as the world’s biggest female sports crush. Data analysed by SpinGenie shows she has beaten the likes of British tennis star Emma Raducanu, American tennis star Serena Williams and Russian former world No. 1 tennis player Maria Sharapova.

Lehmann, who is the most fancied, topped searches of women athletes when their names were followed by the word “hot”. The Aston Villa ace’s popularity has soared with her using social media to show off her attractive looks that has people raving about her beauty.

The data comes as a surprise with Wimbledon Championships currently on and tennis stars being in the spotlight even though Raducanu is missing it as she is recovering from an injury.

And, Lehmann’s popularity of 13.6m Instagram followers could go up further when the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand starts on July 20. Alisha Lehmann and the Switzerland women’s football team have started training and will play their first match on July 1 against Phillipines.

The study, conducted by the team at Spin Genie, analysed hundreds of sports stars based on Google search volume. For each athlete, Spin Genie found the number of searches of their name followed by the word “hot” to reveal which stars receive the most affection - and 10 female athletes came out on top.

Here are the top 10 world’s biggest female sports crushes:

1. Alisha Lehmann

2. Emma Raducanu

Emma Raducanu MBE, 20, the 2021 US Open champion is currently recovering from her injuries and will miss the French Open and Wimbledon. The Google search volume for her was 360,630.

3. Camila Giorgi

Italian tennis star Camila Giorgi, 31, has a Google search volume of 251,400. She faced a defeat by Venus Williams two weeks ago at the Birmingham Classic.

4. Serena Williams

Serena Williams, 41, has a Google search volume of 249,500. She retired last year. She is currently pregnant with her second child with her tech entrepreneur husband Alexis Ohanian. He is a co-founder and former executive chairman of the social media site Reddit.

5. Alex Morgan

She is a 34-year-old American football player. She is the captain of San Diego Wave FC of the National Women’s Soccer League and the United States women’s national soccer team. The Google search volume for her was 182,800.

6. Maria Sharapova

Tennis star Maria Sharapova has a Google search volume of 175,700. The 36-year-old Russian tennis star has won five grand slam titles and retired in 2020.

7. Alica Schmidt

Alica Schmidt, 24, is a German runner who was part of the national team that came second in the 4 × 400 metres relay event at the 2017 European Athletics U20 Championships, and third in the same discipline at the 2019 European Athletics U23 Championships. She had a Google search volume of 170,500.

8. Paige VanZant

Ex-UFC and OnlyFans star Paige VanZant, 29, is an American mixed martial artist, bare knuckle boxer, professional wrestler, author, and model. The Google Search volume for her was 160,300.

9. Danica Patrick

The Google Search volume for her was 137,600. The 41-year-old is an American former professional racing driver. Patrick retired from full-time racing in 2017.

10. Ellyse Perry

Australian sportswoman Ellyse Perry, 32, is a woman with many skills and has represented her country in cricket and soccer. The Google search volume for her was 117,100.
