The Premier League fixture list is released this week (June 16) so that means we’re edging ever-closer to players returning for pre-season and more importantly, the proper stuff starting all over again in August.

Aston Villa’s schedule will begin on July 4th when they return to Bodymoor Heath for the usual fitness checks and drills with their first game less than a week later away at Walsall on July 9th.

The squad will then jet off on their usual pre-season tour which is planned to begin on July 11th - and they’ve taken the go big or go home approach!

Where is Aston Villa’s pre-season tour taking place?

Villa will jet off to sunny Australia for their pre-season tour upon conclusion of their game with Walsall on July 9th and will arrive in Brisbane for their first leg on July 11th.

Following a week in Brisbane where they are due to play two matches, the team will fly to the other side of the country in Perth for two more games.

Who are Aston Villa playing on tour?

Villa will take on a familiar foe in Leeds United first off in the ‘Queensland Champions Cup’ before taking on local A-League side Brisbane Roar a few days later.

The squad then travel to the west coast to take on another Premier League rival in Manchester United.

July 21st: Brisbane Roar vs Aston Villa. Kick-off: 10:45am (BST).

The cheapest flight to Brisbane from Birmingham Airport currently jets off on July 1st for £785 (one way) with Emirates.

For those wanting to jet out for the Perth leg, the cheapest ticket in the month is £778, again one way and again with Emirates.

A return trip is looking at the very minimum around £1600 per person at the moment and that’s before hotels/food etc. But you only live once, Villans!
