Aston Villa have their sights set firmly on Europe as we head into the Premier League’s final run-in.

Unai Emery has overseen a remarkable turnaround at Villa Park, and he has guided Villa firmly into the European spots. The Midlands club defeated Newcastle United over the weekend to move to within six points of the top four. Naturally, a Europa League spot is far more likely at this stage, but even that would be an incredible achievement for Emery and his men given where they were in the autumn.

As Villa look to continue their fine form, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding Villa Park.

Walker interest

Villa are already likely to be looking ahead to the summer, and according to a report, Emery is eyeing a key reinforcement at right-back.

The Lions already have left-back sorted with Alex Moreno, and Football Insider say they are now looking to strengthen the right-back by bringing in Manchester City and England star Kyle Walker. It’s claimed Emery wants a proven commodity, and Villa believe they may be able to tempt Walker due to the face he has lost his starting spot at the Eithad Stadium.

That would be some signing for Villa.

Nelson update

Villa are also said to be interested in a deal for Arsenal star Reiss Nelson, and there has been an update in the situation.

The winger has played a bit-part role for the Gunners this season, but the Daily Mail report Nelson has still been offered a new contract. It’s claimed no agreement has been reached between the club and player just yet, but it’s reported a new deal is on the table despite Nelson’s lack of play-time.

Villa, Fulham, Brighton and West Ham are all said to be interested in snapping up the winger on a free transfer this summer, and it seems Nelson will take some time before seeing where his future lies.
