Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard has sent a clear transfer message to all the club’s showing interest in loan duo Keinan Davis and Cameron Archer, stating that they will need to pay big money if they are to land either of them in the summer.

Davis and Archer have spent the second half of the season with Nottingham Forest and Preston North End respectively and have become huge hits with the fans of the two.

Nottingham Forest forward Keinan Davis has admitted he would be keen to join the club permanently in the summer after joining on loan from Aston Villa in January. Both are enjoying their most successful spells of their senior careers, the former notching up four goals and three assists in 17 appearances with the latter finding the net six times in 14.

Their displays aren’t going unnoticed either, with Gerrard claiming that ‘everyone’ is after the pair.

North End boss Ryan Lowe has already made his intentions clear to bring Archer back next season and interest is certainly there from Forest in regards to a move for Davis.

However, the two will return to Bodymoor Heath this summer and it appears the only way they are leaving again, will be on a permanent basis.

Discussing the future of both prior to the Tottenham Hotspur game this weekend, Gerrard confirmed that Lowe has already enquired about Archer but there is a number of teams after both.

“Ryan phoned me two days ago and asked for him back next season,” he said.

“I told him to tell Peter Ridsdale to get his naughts out if he’s wanting him on a full-time basis!

“I also said that he won’t be available for a loan because the idea of the loan is to give him some experience to get him back in the group and to have a positive pre-season.

“I want more forward options in the number nine position, if you like, so we’ll analyse Cam in pre-season and we’ll make the decision from there. He’s a big, bright prospect here.

“Ryan’s done a good job with him. Preston have given him a really good opportunity to be fair but everyone wants Cam Archer and everyone wants Keinan Davis!

“Good players cost an awful lot of money and you know that, don’t ya!”
