Steven Gerrard ‘weighs up’ managerial offer which would see him reunited with Aston Villa player

Steven Gerrard is reportedly weighing up an offer from the Poland national team to become their new head coach.

The former Liverpool captain was sacked by Aston Villa in October after 11 months in charge at Villa Park.

Gerrard has been out of work since and will be carefully weighing up his next move into management. The Daily Mail (via Meczyki) has reported that Gerrard is being strongly considered for the Poland job.

The report states that the Poland naional federation has approached Gerrard about succeeding Czeslaw Michniewicz, who left his role as Poland’s head coach after the World Cup.

Former Saudi Arabia head coach Herve Renard is also reported to be under consideration for the role. The report states Gerrard was approached for the role several days ago and he is now considering the offer.

If he is appointed the next head coach of Poland he will be reunited with Aston Villa right back Matty Cash who featured for the Poles in Qatar in December.

Cash, who was born in Slough, switched international allegiances from England to Poland five months ago so he could represent his grandparents’ country.
