Aston Villa continue to impress on the pitch under Unai Emery but the football club is also winning away from the field of play thanks to its Footy Scran success.

In the 21st century, a trip to the football is about much more than just the scoreline with the whole matchday experience something that fans spend their weeks looking forward to.

A huge part of that is, of course, the grub being dished up at grounds whether it be the traditional pie or a new take on loaded chips.

The love for food at football venues is so great that one Twitter account, called Footy Scran, is dedicated to showcasing the best and the worst offerings around the world to its 523,000 followers.

At the start of the 2022/23 season, Villa Park featured on the page with its Chicken Tikka and Chips courtesy of caterers The Panjabi Grill.

The tasty-looking food went down a treat with social media users, so much so that the food has been named the most 'scrannable' in the whole of the top flight.

Bet Victor crunched the numbers from the Footy Scran Twitter page to compare the number of people who voted 'scran' over 'no scran' for each dish and tallied it against the cost to make an ultimate ranking.

The Chicken Tikka and Chips at the Aston Villa ground came out in top place, narrowly beating rival dishes from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the Etihad Stadium.

When posted by the famous account on August 31, 2022, a total of 92.9% of voters decided they would scran the Villa Park dish which costs £8 and comes with mint sauce.

Followers wrote "that looks scrandalous" and "scrantastic". Others praised the charring on the chicken which would no doubt "boost the flavour".
