Revealed: The Premier League table that has Aston Villa top and West Ham in bottom half

This table certainly makes for interesting reading for Aston Villa fans!

It seems a long time since Aston Villa were viewed as genuine contenders to claim a Premier League title.

There were pushes for a European place under the likes of Martin O’Neill, John Gregory and Brian Little - but not since Ron Atkinson’s Class of 92/93 have the club genuinely challenged for a top flight title.

Back then, with the Premier League in its infancy, Villa took the battle to become inaugural champions of the new look competition into the final week of the season.

Ultimately, it was Manchester United that claimed the title and left Atkinson’s men to settle for a place in the following season’s UEFA Cup.

But Steven Gerrard’s men would be challenging for a shock title win with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City in one current Premier League table.

BirminghamWorld has utilised transfermarkt.co.uk to see how the Premier League table would look if results were calculated with goals scored by only English players.
