The race for Europe in the Premier League is hotting up between Aston Villa, Liverpool, Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur.

Aston Villa moved one step closer to a potential Premier League top-seven finish with a vital 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday but there’s still plenty to do to secure a European tour. Unai Emery’s side have two games left to go, against Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Both of the opponents to come are also in the fight for Europe, making it rather tricky for Villa to get the points they require to get the job done. Liverpool are now battling with Manchester United and Newcastle United to try and sneak a top-four spot, whereas Brighton still have two games in hand.

Tottenham are the other team in the mix as they are still above the Villans despite the result last time out. It could really come down to the wire with so much still to play for, so we’ve taken a look at the latest simulations from data experts FiveThirtyEight to see where each side is expected to finish.
