It looks like Aston Villa striker Danny Ings is set to join West Ham United with it being widely reported that the 30-year old is in advanced talks with the London club.
The departure of the former Southampton striker, who has scored seven goals in 21 appearances across all competitions this season, would leave Villa lacking depth at the top end of the pitch with Ollie Watkins the only out and out senior centre forward at their disposal. However, it is the January transfer window and there are plenty of options out there if they want to recruit a new number nine.
Here are nine strikers that Aston Villa could potentially sign this month as a replacement for the outgoing Danny Ings:

1. Nicolas Jackson
Head coach Unai Emery has been linked with a number of players from old club Villarreal including the 21-year old but they would have to act quick as it looks like Southampton could be closing in on an £18m deal | Getty Images

2. Moussa Dembele
Everton have been heavily linked with the Lyon forward but he has reportedly said he’s not keen to join a relegation threatened side so Villa Park could be a more appealing destination if he fancied a move to England | Getty Images

3. Roberto Firmino
Villa have been ambitious with their signing targets in the past and the Liverpool forward’s Anfiled future is in doubt - however. they’d probably need to battle some of Europe’s top clubs to land the Brazilian | Liverpool FC via Getty Images

4. Marcus Thuram
The French international’s contract at Bayern Leverkusen is up in the summer and the German side might fancy cashing in now rather than losing on a free so it could be an ideal opportunity for Villa to swoop in | Getty Images
