It has been just over a week since the conclusion of Aston Villa’s turbulent 2021/22 campaign and the majority of us are already itching for the new season.
Steven Gerrard has made three signings before we’ve even entered June and it’s got optimism flowing through the veins once more.
The additions of Philippe Coutinho on a permanent deal, Diego Carlos and Boubacar Kamara already show the new found heights that the claret and blue are aiming for.
And whilst last year didn’t quite live up to the billing in terms of what we’re expecting moving forward - it still had its moments.
The win away at Manchester United will live long in the memory. Coutinho’s debut in the reverse fixture was right up there too.
It might have been below par for the majority but it’s still worth looking back on - especially for moments like that.
