Aston Villa take on Fulham this midweek in a Premier League game considered a must-win if Steven Gerrard is to remain in charge of the club. The former Liverpool man has come under heavy pressure over recent weeks having only led his side to two wins in the opening 10 league fixtures.

Much to the dismay of supporters, Villa have dropped countless points against the likes of Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, and Leeds United. Sitting in 16th place and just one point above the relegation zone, the Villans are falling well below expectations and need a speedy response.

Last time out, Graham Potter’s Chelsea got the better of Gerrard’s men at Villa Park - turning them over with a 2-0 victory and far more possession. Despite having higher figures for shots, efforts on target, and corners, Villa were unable to break through a resilient Blues defence.

They do now face somewhat of an easier opposition with Fulham up next, though, as the Cottagers have seen quite the drop-off in form. Fulham had started the season well, but have lost three of their last five matches, picking up just four points out of an available 15.

Marco Silva’s team can’t be too underestimated though, as they have picked up some impressive results earlier on in the campaign, including a thrilling 2-2 draw with Liverpool and a 2-1 win over Brighton. Craven Cottage has also proven to be a tough place to go, especially under the lights for an evening fixture.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of kick-off, including the latest team news, the kick-off time, how to watch the game on UK television, and how to see highlights after the final whistle.
