Chukwuemeka, whose brother Carney burst onto the scene with Villa before joining Chelsea on a big-money deal, completed two loan spells, one with Livingston and the other with Crawley Town.

He made eight league appearances with the former and 10 for the latter, but the youngster failed to register a league goal in eithe spell. Bristol Live are now saying Chukwuemeka has been on trial with Championship club Bristol City as he looks to land a new club. He is said to have played 45 minutes for Bristol City’s under-21s recently during a Professional Development League game.

But the report also adds that the Robins are ‘unlikely’ to offer the youngster a contract, meaning Chukwuemeka’s search for a new club is likely to continue.

The 21-year-old was once linked with the likes of Tottenham ahead of joining Villa, but he struggled to impress at Villa Park, and takers have been few and far between since he became a free agent during the summer.
