Aston Villa are set for a busy summer as the club continues to show ambition in the transfer market.

Unai Emery secured qualification for Villa last season, and he will now get the chance to put his own stamp on his squad over the course of this summer. Villa are already showing huge ambition, chasing the likes of Pau Torres and securing the likes of Youri Tielemans. Villa’s recruitment is not likely to end there.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news surrounding Villa Park.

Torres not confirmed

Pau Torres is expected to wind up at Villa Park this summer after the club agreed a fee with Villarreal to sign the centre-back.

But Villa are being forced to be patient with Torres currently on honeymoon following his wedding this summer. In the meantime, Villarreal owner Fernando Roig has been asked about the transfer during the Yellow Submarine’s presentation of their season ticket campaign. Roig refused to confirm the transfer when asked.

The transfer is still set to go through, with Torres expected to have his medical after his honeymoon, but Roig is playing it cool until everything becomes official.

Gnonto interest

Villa are being backed to make a move for Leeds United star Wilfried Gnonto this summer.

According to Football Insider, Gnonto is attracting interest from a number Premier League clubs, and Villa are one of them. The 19-year-old Italy international joined Leeds for less than £4million last winter, and the Whites are set to make a quick buck on the youngster after suffering relegation to the Championship.

Just how much Leeds will ask for Gnonto remains to be seen, especially given the reported level of interest in the winger, but Villa are said to be interested as they look to add a winger ahead of the new campaign.
