The Carabao Cup is in its third round stage, but already some have booked their place in to the last 16.

Aston Villa are on the hunt for silverware as they host Everton at Villa Park in Round Three of the Carabao Cup.

The Villains enter at this stage of the competition because Premier League clubs don't enter until Round Two, and Villa had Europa Conference League involvement so they were afforded a bye.

A trophy is something Villa fans are craving and a day out at Wembley Stadium would be brilliant. The closest they came to winning a trophy was the 2015 FA Cup final in which they lost 5-0 to Arsenal.

No Midlands Derby is in the pipeline for the Villa however should they overcome the Toffees. Birmingham City got knocked out by Cardiff City in the previous round, whilst West Brom lost to Stoke City. Wolverhampton Wanderers despite taking a two-goal lead lost 3-2 to Championship high-flyers Ipswich Town on Tuesday night in one of the upsets of the round.

Tonight's Carabao Cup fixtures are; Liverpool vs Leicester City, Blackburn Rovers against Cardiff City, Lincoln City travel to West Ham United, Chelsea take on Brighton & Hove Albion, whilst Bournemouth face Stoke City, Brentford host Arsenal and the televised game is Newcastle United vs Manchester City.
