Aston Villa's Under-21s team travel to the Toughsheet Community Stadium for a Bristol Street Motors group stage match against Bolton Wanderers.

The Villains are currently top of their group after defeating Fleetwood Town 3-2 last month. Emi Buendia scored twice on his first competitive start since May 2023, with Kyrie Pierre also on target.

Bolton won by the same score line against Barrow on the same night. John McAtee, Aaron CollinBs, and Kyle Dempsey all scored for Wanderers that night.

Aston Villa team news

Boubacar Kamara and Tyrone Mings could make a surprise appearance. The pair came up against Newcastle United's under-21s team on Saturday in the Premier League 2. Mings hasn't played in over 12 months, whilst Kamara has been sidelined since February.

Unai Emery wants to build up the pair’s fitness before being considered for the first team. It’s unsure yet what their status is for the Tuesday’s game, but Emi Buendia used the game against Fleetwood Town to build up his fitness.

Aidan Borland and Rory Wilson are away on international duty with the Scotland under-19s team. The Scots have a double-header against Hungary on October 10 and October 13.

Triston Rowe, and Kadan Young are away on international duty with England’s under-19s team. The Three Lions play against Portugal, Netherlands and France on October 8, 12, and 14.

Ajani Burchall signed a new professional contract this summer. He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear and meniscus injury in August 2022, and has been working hard towards a return.

Bolton Wanderers team news

Goalkeeper is a position that Bolton Wanderers will be forced in to making a change in. Nathan Baxter is out with a muscle strain, whilst Luke Southwood is away on international duty with Northern Ireland, along with Eoin Toal and Dion Charles.

Third choice goalkeeper Joel Coleman like Baxter is injured, and so Bolton according to The Bolton News could be forced in to giving Luke Hutchinson an opportunity. Hutchinson had been on loan with Marine in the Northern Premier League up until last Friday.

Josh Sheehan and Szabolcs Schon are away with Wales and Hungary respectively. Carlos Mendes Gomes could make a return to action, whilst Gethin Jones and Will Forrester aren’t too far away.
