Unai Emery has overseen a dramatic change in fortunes since he succeeded Steven Gerrard as Aston Villa manager earlier this season.
The former Arsenal head coach took over a side low on confidence and form and one that seemed to be heading for a mid-table finish at best. But with some shrewd additions and the tactical nous from their manager, Villa have made a late push to return to European football for the first time since 2010 when their Europa League run ended at the first hurdle with a 4-3 aggregate defeat against Rapid Vienna.
Sunday’s narrow 1-0 defeat at Manchester United left Villa sat in seventh place in the Premier League table and they remain in the hunt for a top six place with the season now in its final month - but how does their form over the last ten games compare to the likes of Newcastle United, Liverpool and Spurs as they challenge for a place in Europe?
