Despite being picked for a 2pm Sunday kick-off - a time usually reserved for televised fixtures - on October 23, Villa’s first match without Gerrard will not be shown on live TV. There will, however, be highlights available on the Sky Sports app and Sky Sports YouTube channel around 30 minutes after the full-time whistle.

What is the team news ahead of Aston Villa vs Brentford?

After being sent off with a straight red card against Fulham, Douglas Luiz was set to be suspended and unavailable for the clash with Brentford.
