Aston Villa are once again being linked with the Tottenham man

Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso.

A report from Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo (via The Spurs Web) claims Villa are ‘very interested’ in his services, although Italian champions Napoli are said to be favourites to sign the player. A report from Marca earlier this week also claimed that Unai Emery is keeping an eye on the Argentine midfielder.

The 27-year-old, who had been out on loan with La Liga side Villarreal last season, has previously been linked with a move to Villa Park.

Emery has already worked with Lo Celso having had the Spurs man for the second half of the 2021/22 campaign and is claimed to be a big admirer. He also spent a prolonged period of time with the midfielder when the pair were at Paris Saint-Germain, including the 2017/18 season as Lo Celso played 48 times.

Doku latest

Aston Villa are reportedly still interested in making an offer for Stade Rennais winger Jeremy Doku, even after closing in on the signing of Bayer Leverkusen forward Moussa Diaby.

It’s claimed the Villans would like to sign Doku in addition to Diaby as Unai Emery builds a squad capable of competing at the highest level, both in Europe and the Premier League. Previously, it was assumed Doku, who Liverpool are credited to have a strong interest in, would only be considered if a bid for Diaby failed or he moved to Saudi outfit Al-Nassr instead.

Now, though, even with the Diaby move all but complete with a medical scheduled and contracts set to be signed as soon as Friday, it seems Villa could try and sign both players.

Sports Zone, via Get Football News France, claims the desire is there to bring in more than one new winger and interest remains in Doku, who is enticed by a move to the Premier League.
