It has been a tough start to the new Premier League for Steven Gerrard’s side and they have picked up just three points from their opening four games.

Here is a look at the latest news coming out of the club...

Forward available

Aston Villa forward Caleb Chukwuemeka is reportedly attracting interest from elsewhere.

He has been on the books of the Midlands club since 2021 after rising up through the youth ranks of League Two side Northampton.

Villa have now decided to let him ‘move on’ and he is wanted by Championship promotion hopefuls Burnley, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

Bosses linked

Aston Villa have been linked with a couple of potential new managers.

They have started the campaign slowly and it is being reported that they are already scouting replacements for Gerrard.

Football Insider claim they are interested in Brighton and Hove Albion’s Graham Potter, as well as former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Defender wanted

The club has been linked with West Ham defender Craig Dawson recently as they continue to leak goals in the league.

He is an experienced player in the top flight and has been with the Hammers since 2020.

However, Villa could face competition for his signature though with the Telegraph reporter Mike McGrath reporting that Wolves are also ‘interested’ (see tweet below):
