Aston Villa have added AZ Alkmaar’s Vangelis Pavlidis to their list of transfer targets this summer, according to Jeunes Footeux. Unai Emery’s side face competition from Leeds United for his signature.

Pavlidis joined the Dutch side in 2021 and has since been named in the Eredivisie Team of the Month on three occasions and has bagged an impressive 29 goals and nine assists over the past two seasons. Despite having two years remaining on his contract, the striker could be available for €25m (£22m) this summer which is certainly ‘within reach’ of both Aston Villa and Leeds.

It is yet to be seen who will make the first concrete move for Pavlidis, however he could certainly be a good addition to Emery’s side if he can replicate his form into the English top flight.

Meanwhile, Wolves face losing one of their most improved players under Julen Lopetegui at the end of the season. SPORT have claimed that AS Roma have expressed an interest in signing Nelson Semedo, with Jose Mourinho reportedly a fan of his attacking qualities.

Semedo has looked a much better player under Lopetegui and has made 21 starts in the Premier League this season. While the defender’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, Wolves are expected to trigger the clause that will extend his stay by two years.

Roma are eager to avoid a bidding war for Semedo’s signature, while Wolves are unlikely to roll over easily to allow the 29-year-old to leave Molineux Stadium. The Midlands outfit paid up to £37m for his signature in 2020 and are likely to demand a similar fee of they are to let him go.
