Aston Villa are reportedly interested in a summer move for Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez along with fellow Premier League club Everton. According to a report by Spanish news outlet Sport, Unai Emery’s side ‘see’ him as a potential transfer target ahead of the next window.
Lopez, 20, has been on the books at Camp Nou since 2016 but is facing an uncertain future with the La Liga giants at this moment in time. His contract expires in June 2027 but he is being linked with an exit to England at the end of this season.

The Spain youth international has made 32 appearances in all competitions this term. He has chipped in with six goals and a single assist.
Lopez played in the academy at Real Betis before switching to his current club. He was a regular for Barcelona’s B team and had a loan spell away at Linares Deportivo a couple of years ago to get some experience under his belt.
Aston Villa’s focus right now is on getting into the Champions League. They are currently sat in 4th position in the table above Tottenham Hotspur and drew 1-1 away at West Ham in their last outing before the international break.

There is no doubt that they could do with some more depth in their squad for next season amid links to Lopez. However, there is still a lot of football to be played before the summer.
