Aston Villa predicted starting line-up vs Bolton Wanderers as Cameron Archer decision made following transfer talk

Aston Villa travel to League One side Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday evening hoping to avoid an upset in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
The claret and blue have had a real tough start to their Premier League campaign and that was made worse by their below-par effort in the 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

It leaves Steven Gerrard in a bit of a tough position in regards to how he goes about picking his team on Tuesday evening.
On one side of the argument, the regular starters aren’t performing at the required level and choosing a more fringe team should hopefully give some players a chance to impress and show why they should be in the starting eleven.
And on the other side, the “usual” first-team should be more than strong enough to get the job done, so does he go with that and hope to get in and out of Bolton without an upset in sight?
The claret and blue have a more than big enough squad to be able to not go “full strength” but still get the job done and that may be the way to go for the contest.

GK - Robin Olsen
Olsen will likely play all the cup games for Villa.
RB - Ashley Young
The man that plays everywhere. Gives Cash a chance to have a break and with Augustinsson a left-back, right-back makes the most sense for Young.
CB - Tyrone Mings
Has come back into the squad lately but likely gets the nod again as more of an experimentation next to Chambers.
CB - Calum Chambers
Ezri Konsa has been preferred to Chambers in the opening weeks and Chambers will look to prove that decision wrong here.
LB - Ludwig Augustinsson
A first start of the season for the Sevilla loanee.

Nakamba struggled to regain any sort of form after his injury last year and needs minutes under his belt.
CM - Tim Iroegbunam
Burst onto the scene at the back end of last season. Remains a firm favourite of Gerrard.

CM - Morgan Sanson
A man extremely frustrated by his lack of minutes. If he doesn’t start on Tuesday it’s likely his time in the West Midlands is up.
RW - Anwar El-Ghazi
Still very much a member of the claret and blue for now and deserve a chance to start.

A loan move has been discussed over the last few days but if he remains a Villa player come kick-off on Tuesday - he has to start.
Coutinho’s form has been anything but impressive so far this year. Didn’t start on Saturday though and will likely start here.
