Aston Villa have picked up three points from their opening three games of the new Premier League season.

Steven Gerrard’s side won their home match against Everton but have lost both away clashes at AFC Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.

They are back in action this week in the Carabao Cup away to League One side Bolton Wanderers.

Pair wanted by Championship side

Watford are still reportedly keen on Aston Villa pair Cameron Archer and Kourtney Hause.

Archer spent last term on loan in the Championship with Preston North End, whilst the latter stayed at Villa Park.

According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, the Hornets remain ‘interested’ in the duo (see tweet below):

Winger heads out

Bertrand Traore has completed a departure from Aston Villa.

The winger has made a season-long loan move to the Turkish Super Lig to get some game time under his belt and has now become teammates with former Arsenal ace Mesut Ozil.

That is because he has joined Istabul Başakşehir until next year.

Gerrard’s side are in Carabao Cup action this week as they look to bounce back from their loss at Palace.

The Midlands outfit are taking on League One side Bolton Wanderers away.

Gethin Jones, who plays for the Trotters as a defender, is relishing the match and has said, as per a report by the Manchester Evening News:

“The Villa game is exciting and we’re all buzzing to be involved in it. We haven’t been able to concentrate on it yet, we have been looking at the league games, but now we can look ahead.”
