Former Villa player Rob Edwards has been sacked by Watford.

The ex-defender rose up through the youth ranks at Villa Park and went on to play nine times for their first-team as a youngster.

He landed the top job at Vicarage Road over the summer after winning the League Two title with Forest Green Rovers last term but has lasted just 10 league games in charge of the Hornets.

They have turned to ex-West Ham and West Brom boss Slaven Bilic as his replacement.
