Gerrard has named Ashley Young as his most ‘important signing’ he has made during his time in the Midlands. The former Watford and Manchester United man, who is 37-years-old, has impressed since makiing the move to Villa Park.

His boss has said, as per Birmingham Live: “To be honest, he’s turning out to be the most important signing we’ve done because he’s come in at right-back, he might have to come in at left-back,” Gerrard said. “His performances have been above and beyond.”
