Aston Villa have had mixed start to the season so far, picking up three points from two games.

Steven Gerrard’s men put in a poor performance in their season opener, but they bounced back with a 2-1 win over Everton.

Villa will want to hit the ground running this season to avoid falling into a similar situation to last season, when they were forced to part ways with Dean Smith due to a disappointing start.

The injury blow involving Diego Carlos certainly won’t help, but it might mean there is more business to be done at Villa Park.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Villa Park:

Rugani links

Villa could well in the market to replace Diego Carlos due to the Brazilian’s injury blow.

According to Italian outlet CMW, Juventus star Daniele Rugani has emerged as an option as Villa begin the scan the market.

Rugani has reportedly been transfer listed by Juventus despite the Old Lady losing a handful of centre-backs this summer.

The defender was valued at £30million when he was linked with a move to Wolves three years ago, but he should be available for significantly less money this summer.

Marvelous transfer listed

Villa are said to have placed Marvelous Nakamba on the transfer list.

The player has been at Villa Park since 2019, making 58 Premier League appearances, but he has fallen down the pecking order of late.

Villa have strengthened in midfield, and the signing of Boubacar Kamara will likely mean less opportunties for first team football.

The 28-year-old could now seek opportunities elsewhere, with the Mirror reporting he could be one of five players shipped out this summer.

Gerrard needs to trim his squad ahead of the transfer deadline at the start of September, which is fast-approaching.
