Villa will reportedly don the Adidas Trefoil logo on their third shirt next season as they are set to become one of the sportswear company’s ‘elite’ club brands.
Unai Emery’s side, currently eighth in the UEFA Champions League standings and pushing for another top-four finish in the Premier League, are enjoying great commercial success off the field. Swapping out Castore for Adidas as the club’s lead kit manufacturer at the start of the current term was a popular decision among supporters and the benefits are set to continue for many years.

Hide AdWe’re not even a third of the way into the 2024/25 campaign but leaks have already been circulating for next season’s kits. Footy Headlines, a publication focusing on football shirts and boots, has outlined details that hint at what Villa’s jerseys may look like.
It’s claimed the home shirt design, expected to excite fans, will pay tribute to the famous Holte End at Villa Park. The usual claret and blue scheme will remain but the accent colour is unknown at this stage - with either white or gold likely to feature.
A leak for the away kit suggests a return to black, with light blue logos and Adidas stripes. The last time Villa had a black away shirt was in the 2020/21 season, when Kappa was the manufacturer.
Finally, the third kit will be white with claret and blue accents completing a sleek look. The Adidas Trefoil logo will feature alongside the Villa badge instead of the usual three stripes in a move that places the Villans in an exclusive club alongside the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Other benefits of becoming an ‘elite’ club include a closer general working relationship with Adidas, preferential advertising treatment on a global scale, more customised products and better access to Villa merchandise in every continent. Supporters who don’t live in the ‘west’ will notice authentic kits becoming more readily available.
Villa’s partnership with Adidas developing is excellent news for the club financially as revenue will become more widespread and consistent. It also represents the recent on-field steps made under Emery, notably the venture into this season’s Champions League.
Qualifying for Europe’s elite competition next season is the priority as it’d help maintain and increase Villa’s soaring reputation. It would likely attract more sponsorship agreements, too, securing extra revenue for transfers and the day-to-day running of the football club.
