Aston Villa ‘interested’ in moves for out of favour Man Utd pair

Aston Villa have the chance to bolster their squad now the transfer window is open again. Unai Emery has made a positive impression since taking over at Villa Park.

Winger on radar

Aston Villa are keen on Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho this summer. The former Borussia Dortmund has been on the books of the Red Devils since 2021 and has since scored 12 goals in 79 games in all competitions.

He is facing an uncertain long-term future with Erik ten Hag’s side though and has been linked with a departure. Italian journalist Rudy Galetti has told GiveMeSport: “There are several names on the list, among which Jadon Sancho, Luiz Henrique and Barnes stand out as main targets. The Villans are exploring these tracks and they could make a concrete action in the next weeks.”

Centre-back eyed

Aston Villa could also look to hand defender Harry Maguire an escape route from Old Trafford. Football Insider claim the Villans are ‘interested’ in landing him over the next couple of months along with Premier League rivals Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

The England international has fallen out of favour over recent times with his club but is still in Gareth Southgate’s plans for the Three Lions and played on Friday night against Malta. He has played for Sheffield United, Hull City, Wigan Athletic and Leicester City in the past.
