This decision from the Premier League has not gone down well with Aston Villa fans.

Aston Villa supporters seem to be unanimously furious after the Premier League fixture announcement for the 2023/24 season, as the majority of the key matches will be played away from home.

The Villans’ opening weekend encounter sees a long trip northeast to Newcastle United, whereas the Boxing Day match is at Manchester United and the final day clash is away at Crystal Palace.

It’s been a regular theme over recent seasons for Villa to be handed their first game away from home, with this becoming the 10th in a row. Fans have vented their frustrations that it’s happened yet again.

Villa fans respond to Premier League fixture announcement

You don’t have to look far to find angry messages as plenty of supporters have taken to Twitter to respond to the official Villa account.

@chloe13579246 said: “Away again, we’ll never get to start a season at home.”

@johncre wrote: “First and last game away. 10 first games in a row away. They wouldn’t do that to any other club.”

@William73367135 posted: “This is a joke I can’t lie. How on earth are we away yet again?”

@TheVillaDecree tweeted: “Is someone going to have a word with the Premier League now that’s 10 in a row we get drawn away first?”

@BandanaSavos vented: “Away first game, Boxing Day and last game. Bo****ks.”

Villa also rather ironically have their first home game of the season against Everton, which seems to be a regular occurrence.
