Aston Villa expected to be without four key players for Leeds United game

Aston Villa could be without four key players for their trip to Elland Road to face Leeds United on Sunday (2 October).

Steven Gerrard’s men travel to Elland Road following a 1-1 draw against Manchester City and a 1-0 win over Southampton. Jesse Marsch will be looking to bounce back after two defeats in their last three games.

Here’s the team news ahead of the fixture.

Boubacar Kamara suffered a knee ligament injury during last Friday’s victory over Southampton and will miss the game.

The midfielder sustained the damage during the first half of Villa’s encounter with Saints and was replaced by Douglas Luiz shortly before half-time.

Matty Cash could also be absent on Sunday after he picked up a hamstring injury during Villa’s draw with City.

Lucas Digne will also miss the game after the left-back withdrew from the French squad fter suffering an ankle injury. Villa’s summer signing Diego Carlos will also miss the game after he ruptured his achilles tendon at the start of the campaign. The Brazilian is expected to be out injured for the majority of the campaign and will miss the World Cup.
