Villa are said to remain in the thick of the race to land Marseille star Boubacar Kamara this summer.

Kamara reportedly demanding big wages to put off a number of the teams who were chasing his signature.

But it seems Villa have not been put off, buoyed by the opportunity to land a top player on a free transfer.

The Sun say the Lions have continued talks and are hoping to seal the deal over the coming weeks.

Suarez boost

Aston Villa could have a big chance of securing the signing of Luis Suarez after all this summer.

There have been links aplenty, given the connection between Gerrard and Suarez, but we haven’t heard much of late.

But Atletico Madrid confirmed this week that Suarez will leave the club at the end of his contract this summer, and that’s good news if Villa do want to land him.

Not only that, but Fabrizio Romano has reported that Suarez has rejected offers from MLS, preferring to remain in Europe.
