That could be a big blow for Villa, with Phillips expected to be one of the club’s prime targets ahead of next season.

Gomez links resurface

It has been a while since Villa were last linked with Liverpool defender Joe Gomez.

But according to The Mirror, the Lions are expected to ramp up their transfer plans, which include trying to land Gomez.

Gomez has seen reduced opportunities at Anfield this season, and Gerrard is said to be keen on the centre-back as he looks to revamp his squad ahead this summer.
