Villa enquiry revealed
Villa are said to have made an enquiry for Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
Ndombele is set to leave Spurs this summer despite arriving at the club on a £54million deal, failing to impress since.
The midfielder spent the second half of last season with Lyon on a loan spell, and he could now leave amid a number of new signings at Tottenham this summer.
According to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs, Villa made an enquiry for Ndombele, but that was back in January.
“There has been no source from the Premier League who has said they are interested in the player at this stage,” he said, as per Birmingham Live.
“The only club who I can tell you made an enquiry in January with a view to this window was Aston Villa. But they haven’t materialised or advanced that in any way, shape or form. If he goes, and I think that’s likely, I see him leaving the Premier League.”
Villa are said to be working on a new contract for Douglas Luiz, despite being tipped to sell him this summer.
According to Birmingham Live, Gerrard wants Luiz to stay and is still locked in contract negotiations with him.
Luiz is now in the final year of his contract, and Villa could be forced to sell unless they can agree a deal.
