The win isn’t worth a great deal at this stage of the summer, but it will secure important confidence as the new season nears.

Gerrard will be looking to ramp up preparations from this point, while he and the club’s recruitment staff wil be looking to add even more fresh faces.

It has already been an exciting summer for Villa, and we could yet see further incomings and outgoings.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Villa Park.

Villa are being linked with a move for Chelsea star Conor Gallagher.

Gallagher was excellent for Crystal Palace during a loan spell last season, and despite Chelsea likely wanting to keep the midfielder, Villa are being backed to snap up the Englishman to replace Douglas Luiz, who could yet leave this summer.

Transfer insider Pete O’Rourke told Football Fancast: “I think we saw what Conor Gallagher provided for Crystal Palace last year.

“He was probably one of the best players in the Premier League, for me, on his day. So, he will definitely be a huge signing for Villa if Steven Gerrard was able to get him.”

Villa youngster Carney Chukwuemeka is said to want a big pay packed this summer.

The latest reports claim the midfielder has now rejected Villa’s contract offer amid talk of a sea of interest from home and abroad.

According to Football Insider, Chukwuemeka wants as much as £100,000-per-week to sign a deal this summer.

It’s reported Villa want £20million for the 18-year-old this summer, but clubs could be put off by the young star’s salary demands, if indeed they are accurate.
