Aston Villa ‘close’ with two more transfers, Wolves given Palhinha ultimatum, Spurs keeping tabs on McGinn

The rumour mill is in full flow and the window hasn’t even opened yet!

Aston Villa are close to bringing in two more players as their mass summer overhaul continues.

It looks like Steven Gerrard is once again dipping into his former club Rangers but this time for some of the younger talent.

16-year-old Rory Wilson who scored 49 goals at youth level last season looks set to join the Villans whilst Ewan Simpson (15) of Hearts is also ready to make the move to the West Midlands.

It shows that Gerrard is not only interested about the here and now but planning for a real strong future and continuing the recent success of Villa’s impressive academy.

The claret and blue do of course continue to be linked with every man and their dog in terms of first-team talent, too.

Diego Carlos, Boubacar Kamara and Philippe Coutinho have all already signed on the dotted line prior to the window officially opening - but who’s next?
