Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson.

Johnson was one of the standout young players in the Premier League last season and was a key part of Nottingham Forest’s survival. The 22-year-old, who recorded the fastest speed in the league last season ahead of the likes of Kyle Walker, Marcus Rashford and Mykhailo Mudryk, is also a target for Brentford.

The Bees already had a £30 million bid for Johnson knocked back last month, but according to the Daily Mail, the East Midlands club may be willing to cash in on their highly rated homegrown winger. Johnson was vital to Forest retaining their place in the Premier League last season, but the youngster finished the season on the bench.

The report states that Forest would be looking for a fee in the region of £50 million for the Welsh international, who also has interest from Spain, as well as Villa.

Barnes latest

Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes is a target for Aston Villa this summer.

According to The Guardian, Villa are keen on the English winger, along with Tottenham and West Ham. Although the report states that Newcastle United are leading the race for Barnes.

The Foxes reportedly want around £50 million for the midfielder, but could accept a lower fee following their relegation to the Championship.
