Arsenal v Aston Villa early injury news as 7 ruled out and 1 doubtful for Premier League clash

Aston Villa face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.
Former Gunners boss Unai Emery returns to the club he once called home for 18 months. Emery was a runner-up in the Europa League with Arsenal, and before the clash in North London there is a Europa Conference League tie against Lille to play.

Hide AdArsenal have already played this week drawing 2-2 with German champions Bayern Munich. Mikel Arteta's side went in front through Bukayo Saka but then Harry Kane put them in front with a penalty after Serge Gnabry had equalised. Leandro Trossard levelled up things with a 76th minute equaliser.
Villa will have two less days of rest to prepare for Arsenal but thankfully they are home for the first leg against Lille at Villa Park. It's been a juggling act for Villa who are on the hunt for silverware but also have ambitions to play in the Champions League. Villa are level on points with Spurs but Arsenal's bitter rivals are ahead on goal difference with a game in hand.
It’s a double game week for Arsenal and Villa, and that means that there could be some players who are managed differently. Here’s the latest injury and team news ahead of kick-off.

Aston Villa team news
Clement Lenglet is a doubt for the weekend after he was ruled out against Lille. He has suffered a 'small' injury. Emery added that Matty Cash is working towards a return but is training individually however a return to the group is close. Cash suffered a hamstring injury whilst on international duty with Poland and is incredibly unlikely to play.

Hide AdEmi Buendia posted on social media earlier this week a video of him training. He suffered knee ligament damage in August and isn't expected to play a match this season. It's the same story for Tyrone Mings who just a few days after Buendia got injured against Newcastle United and has been sidelined.
Boubacar Kamara is the third and final player out with a serious knee injury. He got injured against Man United and had to undergo surgery which will put him out until around October.
Jacob Ramsey is the final player to be missing through injury prior to their game against Lille. He has a toe injury and that has put an end to his campaign which has been affected by a foot injury.
Douglas Luiz is not injured but will be absent through suspension. He picked up his 10th yellow card of the campaign and as a result he will have to miss the next two matches.

The Gunners have just the one player out through injury. Jurrien Timber has been out for the whole of campaign so far after suffering a serious knee injury in pre-season.
He could play a game this season but Arsenal are involved in a title race and there won't be many opportunities for him to get up to speed. Timber could play for the under-21s team before being named in their first-team squads. Timber is still a month off at least from making a return and so he won’t be able to play against Villa.
Earlier this month, Mikel Arteta said: “He’s doing very well; he’s back training. He’s not far off, but the thing is that last step. He hasn’t played any minutes, so does he need a game with the U21s. I think he has a good chance [of playing again this season].”
Arsenal before going in to their match against Bayern had some concerns over both Gabriel Magalhaes and Bukayo Saka. Saka has satrted the last two matches, netting in both and overcame a muscle injury to feature.
